AudioKit Privacy Policy
AudioKit respects your privacy. This Policy explains how information is handled when you use the AudioKit application and how you can manage that information. “We,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operator, AudioKit.
1. Overview
The application currently does not require an account. Core features, including audio editing, format conversion, merging, and extraction of audio tracks from video, run on your device. The application does not upload your media files to AudioKit servers to perform these functions.
The application currently does not independently integrate advertising, user behavior analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs, and does not contain custom event tracking for specific actions such as button taps or editing operations. It does not perform advertising tracking, use media content for model training, or identify people from their voices. When distributed through Google Play, the platform may still provide usage statistics and quality diagnostics as described below.
Reading or processing files on your device does not mean that AudioKit receives those files. Information you voluntarily email to us, platform reports provided by Google Play, and backups or transfers performed by your device’s operating system are separate situations described below.
2. Information Handled and Its Purposes
2.1 Media Files You Select
When you import audio or select a video through the system file picker, the application reads the selected files to preview playback, generate waveforms, edit, convert, merge, or extract audio tracks.
Imported audio is copied into app-specific storage. Selected video may be temporarily copied into the application’s cache to read and extract audio tracks. Generated audio is saved in app-specific storage for further processing, management, or export.
These actions are triggered by your choices. The application does not scan all media on your device or proactively access other files unrelated to the current operation.
2.2 File Information and Operation Settings
To display file details, organize resources, and process media, the application may read or generate file names, paths within the application, file sizes, modification times, durations, formats, encoding information, sample rates, channel information, bit rates, and existing metadata tags.
File names or metadata may contain names, titles, or other personal information. This information is processed on your device along with the media files. The application also uses settings such as trimming ranges, playback positions, speed, volume, fade durations, and merge order locally or in working memory to carry out operations and display the interface.
2.3 Local Diagnostic Information
When playback or processing errors occur, the application may write error messages and technical diagnostic information to the device’s system logs. Logs may include information related to file processing or error context. The application has no independent feature for uploading these logs to AudioKit. Quality diagnostics provided by Android and Google Play are described in Section 2.5.
If you voluntarily send logs or screenshots to help troubleshoot a problem, we will use the information only to address that problem. Review and remove unnecessary personal or sensitive information before sending it.
2.4 Information You Send When Contacting Us
If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any files, screenshots, or other information you choose to attach. We use this information to respond to inquiries, handle privacy requests, troubleshoot problems, and resolve disputes, rather than for advertising or marketing.
You do not need to provide media files, identity documents, or other sensitive information unrelated to your request. If identity verification is necessary, we will request only information that is necessary and proportionate to the request.
2.5 Google Play Statistics and Diagnostics
If you install the application through Google Play, Google Play may provide us with aggregate statistics such as installation counts and active usage. For Android vitals quality diagnostics, where users have permitted the relevant data sharing and platform reporting conditions are met, Android and Google Play may collect information about crashes, application not responding (ANR) events, performance, and other application quality issues, and provide related statistics or diagnostic reports to us through Play Console.
These reports may include the application version, device model, operating system version, error stack traces, and performance metrics. We use platform reports to understand overall application operation, troubleshoot problems, and improve stability. This mechanism does not require the application to integrate a crash-reporting SDK and does not mean that the platform provides us with your audio or video files.
Google manages platform data collection, reporting conditions, and privacy handling under its relevant rules and your settings. Android vitals uses data only from users who agree to share the relevant information, and displays reports after conditions such as sufficient data to protect privacy are met. You can manage the relevant sharing through usage and diagnostics settings on your device. Setting names and available options vary by device and system version.
3. Permissions and File Access
The application uses the system file picker to obtain access to files or save locations you select. It does not require broad storage access permission. If you cancel a selection or do not authorize access, the corresponding import, extraction, or export operation cannot be completed. Features that do not depend on that access remain available.
The application currently does not request microphone, camera, contacts, location, phone, or SMS permissions. It does not record through the microphone or collect advertising identifiers to track you.
If you choose a file or save location managed by another document provider in the system file picker, that provider supplies or receives the selected file. Its behavior depends on your device settings and the service you choose. This does not cause AudioKit to independently upload other files you have not selected.
4. Storage, Retention, and System Backups
4.1 App-Specific Files
Imported audio and processing results are stored in app-specific storage on your device for later use until you delete the resources, clear application data, or uninstall the application. We do not store these files on AudioKit servers.
4.2 Temporary Files
Media processing may create cached or temporary copies. The application attempts to remove them when the relevant processing ends or they are no longer needed. At startup, it also attempts to remove relevant temporary files older than approximately 24 hours. Unexpected shutdowns, device conditions, or system restrictions may delay removal, so this is not a guarantee that every cached file will be deleted within 24 hours. You can clear the application’s cache through system settings.
4.3 System Backups and Device Transfers
The current version allows Android to back up application data or transfer it between devices. Depending on the device, system version, and your settings, some data in app-specific storage, including media files, may be copied by the operating system to your backup service or transferred to another device.
The operating system and relevant backup service perform these actions. AudioKit does not provide that backup service and cannot directly access or manage those backups. You can manage these features through your device or backup service settings. Deleting application data on one device may not delete existing system backups.
4.4 Contact Records
Emails and attachments you send to us are retained in the mailbox used to handle user contacts, only for as long as needed to reply, handle requests, or resolve disputes. Once the matter is complete and retention is no longer necessary, we will delete or anonymize the relevant records, unless retention is required or an unresolved matter still needs them.
4.5 Platform Reports
Google Play manages the retention and accessibility of its platform statistics and diagnostic data. If we separately save reports to investigate a problem, we retain them only for as long as needed to diagnose, fix, and verify that problem, then delete copies that are no longer necessary, unless retention is required or an unresolved matter still needs them.
5. Disclosure and Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal information or use your media files or personal information for advertising profiling.
The application does not automatically send your media files to us or other organizations. When you choose to export a file, the application writes that file to your selected destination. You and any storage service you choose manage exported copies. System backups and device transfers operate as described in Section 4.
Section 2.5 describes the platform statistics and quality diagnostics that Android and Google Play may provide to us.
For contact information you voluntarily send us, access is limited to people who need it to handle the matter and service providers supplying necessary email storage or transmission, within those purposes. We may disclose necessary information where a binding obligation requires it or where it is necessary to protect legitimate rights, and will explain this to you where permitted. We cannot disclose local media files we have never received.
6. Security
We use Android’s app-specific storage and system file authorization mechanisms to limit the application’s file access and avoid transmitting files to servers for media processing.
No device or communication method can guarantee absolute security. Protect your device, install system updates, and check destinations and recipients when exporting files or sending email. App-specific storage is not a separate encrypted vault provided by AudioKit.
7. Managing Data and Making Requests
You can use the application’s library to view, export, rename, or delete audio stored by the application. Deleting a resource affects only the corresponding file within the application. It does not automatically remove other processing results, original files, exported copies, or system backups.
You can also use device settings to clear the application’s cache, clear its data, or uninstall it. Clearing data or uninstalling normally removes app-specific files from that device. Export anything you wish to keep first. External copies and system backups must be managed separately.
For usage and diagnostic data shared with Google by the operating system, use the relevant settings and management channels provided by your device and Google. We cannot change those platform settings for you or locate an individual user’s records in aggregate reports where the platform does not provide user-identifying information.
To ask about, access, correct, or delete personal information you voluntarily sent us, or to raise an objection or withdraw consent where applicable, contact aliyanconsole47@gmail.com. We will handle requests within applicable requirements and explain the outcome or why a request cannot be fulfilled. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawfully carried out before withdrawal.
Because we do not receive media resources stored on your device and do not maintain user accounts, we cannot remotely view, restore, or delete your local files. Manage those files through the application or your device settings.
8. Privacy of Minors
The application is not intended to collect personal information from minors and does not target them with advertising or behavior analytics. If you cannot independently consent to the relevant processing, use the application with the consent and guidance of a parent or other guardian.
If a guardian believes a minor has submitted personal information to us that should not be retained, they may request deletion through our contact email. We will verify and appropriately address the request.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy when features or data handling practices change and will provide the new version and its effective date within the application. We will clearly notify you of material changes to processing purposes, information categories, or disclosure practices, and obtain advance consent where required. Publishing an updated Policy alone will not authorize a new use of existing information that requires separate consent.
10. Contact Us
For questions, complaints, or requests about this Policy, data handling, or management of personal information, contact AudioKit at aliyanconsole47@gmail.com.
